Carnival means different things to different people; you can examine the historical connection, the social and political significance and the cultural impact, but to most of the participants of Elimu Carnival Band carnival means fun and excitement: the thrill of the sounds, the smells, the colours, the costumes, the noise and the hype of the crowd.

People have been waiting the whole year for this day to come round, the mas camp has toiled away for two months, the anticipation is immense, and the eXcitement is at fever pitch.
